Key concerns about machinery during washdown
With many years’ experience as a Hygiene Manager across multiple food and beverage manufacturers, Garth Dempster approached Klipspringer with two key concerns:- Factory equipment, especially touchscreen control panels costing thousands of pounds, was being damaged due to insufficient protection during routine hygiene washdowns.
- Machinery that had already been cleaned was having to be re-cleaned due to washdown contamination, resulting in duplicated effort, wasted water and production downtime.

The solution for washdown protection
Working closely with Garth, Klipspringer adapted the highly popular SegriScreen concept to produce a made-to-measure cover to protect its first recipient – a 7 ft Sancassiano mixer!This included developing a new hygienic method to manufacture well-fitting covers in a way that wouldn’t introduce bug traps or moisture harbourage points, and yet still be sufficiently robust for a food factory environment.After multiple prototypes, the SegriCover was born – a bespoke, waterproof and hygienic cover to suit machines and production items of all shapes and sizes, protecting them from both water ingress and contamination.As an additional feature, it also included branding (not shown) and the machine cover name for effective visual management.
